Philippines, Gawad Kalinga VillageThe Let’s Colour Project event in the Philippines worked with Tony Meloto and his organisation, Gawad Kalinga to help build integrated, holistic and sustainable communities in slum areas of the country.
We helped add colour to the lives of people who are less fortunate and also helped bring back the spirit of “bayanihan”, the willingness to share heavy workloads for your fellow countrymen of the Philippines.
The Let’s Colour Project provided paint for 24 houses in the Gawad Kalinga Village. The colour scheme comprised of green, blue & yellow which brings the message of happiness, peacefulness to local community. The event happened over 2 days in Jun & Sep 2010. It involved 11 AkzoNobel volunteers, and 30 Gawad Kalinga staff and local contractors.
The residents of Gawad Kalinga are now very happy with their new homes and colourful environment.
