What was once a grey area is now a vivid neighborhood, thanks to the power of color. With vibrant paint and lively murals, Let’s Colour revitalized the streets of Mustafabad, Pakistan, bringing a new identity to this town and joy to its residents.

Colorful & cool makeover

Let’s Colour, in collaboration with Akhuwat Foundation, introduced a world of color to the residents of Mustafabad, in the Kasur district of Pakistan. This initiative, the largest of its kind undertaken by Dulux in Pakistan, has touched the lives of 6,000 residents by repainting the exteriors of over 1,000 homes and rejuvenating community spaces with the vibrant strokes of Dulux paint. Over the course of four months, 26 painters and mural artists, along with 41 AkzoNobel volunteers, worked tirelessly, using 8,250 liters of paint to bring Mustafabad’s new colorful identity to life.

For this initiative, Dulux color experts carefully curated 51 hues, ranging from nurturing greens to tranquil blues, each chosen to spark hope and inspire residents to flourish. Moreover, since summer temperatures in this area can reach 48 degrees Celsius, the exteriors have been coated with Dulux Weathershield. While providing all-weather protection to homes for longer, this high-quality exterior emulsion is powered by the special Keep Cool Technology™ that helps reduce surface temperatures by up to 5°C. Now, Mustafabad is not only more colorful but also cooler and more livable.

Testament to culture and diversity

However, the impact of this Let’s Colour initiative extends far beyond physical transformations. The eye-catching mural artworks celebrate cultural diversity, shared heritage, and natural beauties, blending Pakistani world-famous truck art with national landmarks. The ‘Window To a Dream World’ mural captures the abundance of nature in Pakistan. Furthermore, strategically painted murals were created to connect and inspire the community, highlighting the importance of education and hand sanitation and encouraging the community to contribute to a better future.

Painting a brighter future

Once-dull spaces have been transformed into vivid hubs of community interaction. Evening gatherings now take place in the newly rejuvenated areas, where colorful floral motifs on walls provide a welcoming ambiance, while new shops offer opportunities for local businesses and create the perfect setting for lively conversations for residents of all ages.

But the most profound transformation lies in the hearts and minds of the residents themselves. Through the Let’s Colour initiative, Dulux and Akhuwat Foundation have instilled a sense of pride and hope within the community, proving that a coat of paint can do much more than adorn walls – it can paint a brighter future.
