The Let’s Colour Project, in collaboration with the Athens city council and the “Carpe Diem” graffiti art group, was involved in the creation of graffiti art on various building facades and other surfaces in the “Psyrri” area of Athens

The Psyrri area is a neglected area in an otherwise beautiful setting, in the centre of Athens.  Thousands of people pass through the area on a daily basis.

The Let’s Colour Project donated paints in order to aid the “Carpe Diem” group in the project of brightening and beautifying various building facades, walls and other surfaces in the area of Psyrri. Carpe Diem members and volunteers certainly had their work cut out for them! The project was a complicated one, as naturally some cleaning of the surfaces was required before painting could begin.  In addition, surfaces that large require a lot of paint!

The end result of the painting was a cornucopia of beautiful graffiti, the pictures truly imaginative and elaborately and masterfully executed.  Such a beautiful burst of color in a formally grey and neglected area of Athens cannot but have a positive impact on the mood of anyone passing by, day or night.
