A colorful New Year’s gift for a more hopeful future

The Government Senior Secondary School in Nathupur was built almost 40 years ago, and the last time it was painted was more than a decade ago. Over a thousand children predominantly from economically weaker sections of the society are enrolled in classes 6 – 12.

Therefore, to offer them better learning conditions and empower them on their way to become independent adults, professional painters from the AkzoNobel Paint Academy, as well as AkzoNobel staff, came together to add color to the facility.

Conveying an important message through the artwork

Let’s Colour believes there is a colorful future for everyone and utilizes the transformational power of paint to help to create communities where people will thrive.

However, communities cannot flourish without nature. A mural inspired by the original creation of American mural artist Dave Loewenstein, on the showcase wall of the school, depicts the correlation and interdependency between flora, fauna, and humans.

This colorful mural highlights the importance of maintaining a balance. The balance is necessary to ensure that the animal kingdom and green cover will flourish for our future generations to enjoy the beauty of the planet Earth.

Together for happier learning environments

Today’s vivid and inspiring look of the Government Senior Secondary School is a result of the AkzoNobel color expertise. Bright colors on the pillars add a cheerful and uplifting vibe to the environment, and in combination with the eye-catching mural, they create a thriving and happy learning atmosphere.

“We pride ourselves on our knowledge of color and design. Therefore, we know how color creates the right environment in schools to bring out the best in students and teachers. We believe in the transforming power of color and hope that the students will be inspired to keep striving for brilliance in their learning journey,” stated Rajiv Rajgopal, Managing Director, AkzoNobel India.
