An early New Year’s gift had arrived at the Government SDMC Pratibha School in Jonapur, New Delhi! AkzoNobel India brought a colorful transformation and bright skies to young students just in time for the school’s reopening.

A colorful surprise

The Government SDMC Pratibha School, where more than 1,300 children from the first to fifth class are enrolled, was last painted almost six years ago. It was a gloomy place, with deteriorated and colorless walls. As schools in India reopen, Let’s Colour decided to greet the children in Jonapur back to school with a colorful surprise.

For over a month, about 50 people, including teachers, AkzoNobel volunteers, and female painters from the AkzoNobel Paint Academy, painted together to brighten up the school. With more than 500 liters of Dulux paint applied to over 2,800 square meters, the school was transformed into a cheerful and stimulating learning environment where the children can thrive.

Limitless as Bright Skies

Psychological studies show that colors can have a significant impact on our mood and behavior. Therefore, being the color experts, the AkzoNobel team has carefully chosen colors that will enhance children’s learning capabilities and their mood.

The transformative power of paint is now felt everywhere. A special mural has been created on the school facade to inspire children to follow their dreams that can be limitless as the sky. The vibrant rainbow and colorful pillars in the assembly area reflect the happiness of the children meeting each other again. And to bring a piece of nature and openness into the school environment, they chose Bright Skies for the classrooms, the AkzoNobel Color of the Year 2022.

What made this Let’s Colour initiative even more special was the official launch of Bright SkiesTM in India.
