Netherlands, GroningenMulticultural Women’s Center Jasmijn in Groningen, the Netherlands, has been given a colorful makeover by our Flexa brand. A fresh splash of paint brought new energy and positivity that will help empower women to achieve their full potential.
Supporting women of Groningen
Women’s Center Jasmijn is an urban multicultural center, where women from different backgrounds meet. Every week around 500 women walk into the center, where they socialize, attend courses, workshops, and other activities.
The center aims to raise awareness of the social position of women, by giving them tools to develop themselves and supporting them to choose the life they want, within existing possibilities. Simply put, the center empowers women to be stronger, among other things.
A splash of positivity
The entrance and reception play an important role within the center. Although furniture and window frames had already been painted in the colors of Jasmijn Center, the white walls stood out, creating an uneasy atmosphere.
To make the space more complete and positive, Let’s Colour decided to deliver a vibrant transformation. 6 AkzoNobel volunteers worked together with 5 women from the center and artist duo VAAF, to brighten up the interior by using 35 liters of Flexa paint.
Portraying power and growth
As a result, the center is now a bright, inspiring environment, that women wish to spend more time in. The illustrator and muralist duo, Lotte Masker and Jonna Bo Lammers, from VAAF, painted a mural in the main room that beautifully shows the power and growth of women. Color has also been applied to other areas of the women’s center, such as the yoga room, making everything more vivid and soothing.
Each woman feels optimistic about the colorful makeover, and that was exactly the main aim of this Let’s Colour initiative. Thanks to the positive power of paint, the women can now enjoy a new space that really suits them – powerful and colorful.
