Tai Hung Tung Nursery School is located in Shek Kip Mei Estate, the first public housing estate in Hong Kong. During the summer holiday, Dulux helped children make their dreams come true.

The small children, who went to the Hong Kong Christian Service Tai Hung Tung Nursery School, started creating their dream school with their parents and teachers in July by painting their rooftop playground under the bright and shining sun. They surely made their school much more colorful! The idea for the children’s wall painting comes from this campus, which is filled with laughter and love. They wanted a fountain of love in the school that releases the power of love, and a rainbow bridge that connects to the community to shorten the distance between people.

The children loved the colourful creations of freely-shaped buildings of artist Bai Shui, so they imitated his style and used colourful buildings as the background, creating a sharp contrast with the surrounding old buildings and making the school sparkle. On the day of the activity, the children, with brushes in their hands, looked like painters and each used their own style to paint their favourite colours. Some took broad strokes of the brush; others took their time in painting within the sketch marks. With the guidance and help from their parents and teacher, the children painted their dream school together. Looking at their own masterpiece, the children were beyond excitement.

“Children need more space and colours to realise their potential. Thanks to the sponsorship from the Dulux Let’s Colour campaign, we can let children paint the picture on the walls of the rooftop garden themselves. Their dreams have come true!” says Principal Szeto. Dulux wants the children to remember this experience, and in the future, use their own efforts to realise their dreams, to add colours to their lives!
