The Let’s Colour project gave a new lease of life to the centre of Guangzhou’s collage district by adding colour to its main square. The square now inspires Guangzhou’s young students to be more confident with colour.

The Let’s Colour team used a gradually changing colour palette in this project. Colours ran from one side of the square’s hall, through the ceiling, to the other side, making the square a very inspiring place. By using more than 900 litres of paint to colour a 3000m² space the Let’s Colour project has turned this cold and grey space into a warm and pleasant place to visit.

A college student who happened to pass by was surprised by the new look square and said “I never thought the hall would be anything other than a grey space, because in China many public places have no colour. So many people pass by buildings here without even noticing them.” But after seeing the new hall he admitted that buildings could be made to look so beautiful when colour is added.
