Hungary, Pest CountyWith the help of 170 volunteers and 440 liters of Dulux paint, two primary schools in Nagykovács and Göd received a new look. Both schools have been in a state of decline for decades, but with new dynamic colors and patterns new spaces have been created where children can feel inspired and recharged.
The winners of the Let’s Colour Competition 2019 were the Nagykovácsi Foundation School and Tivadar Huzella Bilingual Primary School in Göd. During the makeover of these schools, the collaboration between the members of the community was exceptional, as they were able to paint more than 1000 square meters in a day!
Amazing collaboration – two primary schools renovated
In the category of settlements with less than 10 thousand inhabitants, the jury selected the Primary School of Nagykovácsi, and among the settlements with more than 10 thousand, the Tuzar Huzella Tivadar Primary School. Both schools have been in bad condition for decades, but Let’s Colour offered them the opportunity for a complete makeover.
The local communities received the paint, materials, and expert advice, to redo the old walls at this year’s competition for the Let’s Colour Township Association.
Creating inspiring spaces together
By using dynamic, harmonious colors and patterns, the goal was to create an environment where children will feel inspired and uplifted.
The walls of the Children of Nagykovácsi Foundation school were inspired by Hungarian folklore motives, which made the entire school more colorful and inspiring. The grey walls became a thing of the past, and 600 students were so happy when they saw the transformation.
However, in Göd something extraordinary happened. More than 1000 square meters were painted in a day, all thanks to the collaboration and determination of children, students, and teachers! Almost a hundred volunteers worked hard to create a brighter environment for future generations. They have proven that positive energy can do wonders and change people’s lives.
The synergy brought joy to people’s faces
“As in recent years, the volunteers have contributed to the success of the painting, unselfishly and with persistent work. A day like this will bring community members, parents, teachers, and residents closer together,” said Gergely Nagy, spokesman for Let’s Colour Settlement Association.
After the renovation was done, people involved in the process, and those who only saw the result witnessed how powerful paint can be. Everyone felt more inspired and energized after looking at the beautifully painted walls.
