This year, many regions in the south of Turkey have been hit by forest fires, which threatened the lives and homes of people in this area. To support the reconstruction of the houses and livelihood destroyed by fires in Manavgat, a city in the Antalya region, Let’s Colour joined the “One Support One Home” project and contributed by spreading the power of paint.

One Support One Home

The massive fires began in the last week of July in Manavgat, situated in an area known for high summer temperatures. Although Turkey is frequently facing wildfires during the summer months, this year’s outbreak reached unpredictable proportions. Temperatures above 40°C, along with low humidity and strong winds, caused the fires to spread quickly, prompting mass evacuations in many areas of southern Turkey.

To contribute to restructuring works after the fire, our Marshall brand supplied paint and manpower to the “One Support One Home” project (“Bir Destek Bir Yuva”), initiated by Needs Map (İhtiyaç Haritası) and Nef Foundation. The project aims to support citizens who lost their homes in the fire, as well as to restore the common areas such as schools and art centers.

For this project, we have donated 10.758 liters of paint, and 20 of our volunteers were involved in an effort to eliminate destruction caused by fires and show support in these challenging times.

Spreading hope after the crisis

As a result of this Let’s Colour initiative, 398 buildings were repaired and repainted, including houses and production areas such as greenhouses, farms and barns, bringing hope to the post-disaster life the people of Manavgat were exposed to.

Marshall Marketing Manager, Pınar Adabağ, emphasized that it is very necessary and important to contribute to the structuring works, as well as to provide aid at the time of the fire. That is why Marshall announced it will continue to provide support in case of need.
