Écija is a small village in the south of Spain, close to Sevilla, that suffered from several floods in 2010. The floods destroyed many houses and months later residents could still see how the water entered their homes and damaged furniture and walls.

The Let’s Colour project donated more than 14,000 litres of paint to the people of Écija to help them bring color back into their lives. And on April 2nd 2011 200 volunteers from Écija joined more than 30 members of the Let’s Colour team and added color to the village’s Espacio abierto de Ocio and Polideportivo del Valle.

It became a huge project that brought a lot of joy to both the Let’s Colour team and the residents of Écija. Many people from the village told the team that they could never have imagined that color could change a space so much. A resident commented: “The result was amazing, the pictures can’t do it enough justice.”
