Brazilian designer, Mauricio Arruda, creates these cheery eco-friendly cabinets using old plastic crates in primary colours that he finds in Brazilian markets. They’ve got such character and cheeky childlike charm to them, would look great in an office or warehouse home.

Foam-tastic floor
Posted 10:05 AM by Rebecca Campbell
This new age carpet is very cool. Made from lots of little foam bars of different colours and heights. I imagine walking on it to be like a soft version of a masseuse sandal and would be a lot cheaper than going to a reflexologist. It’s designed by Laurens van Wieringen.

Colouring in dress
Posted 10:04 AM by Rebecca Campbell
A colouring in book that you can wear. Pretty cool. It comes with bright and cheery markers so you can design your own colourful pattern. It is pretty exy but the end result is a one of a kind dress, so can’t really argue with that. You can buy it online here.
Colourful sculptures made from skateboards

Japanese wood sculptor Haroshi creates these amazing wood sculptures from used skateboards. All sculptures are sanded back to a smooth finish and then are coloured with candy like colours.
Baltimore mural

Loving this ultra colourful iconic mural by Josh Van Horne in his hometown of Baltimore. The bold building is in an area laden with warehouses, so it must really stand out. It’s said that each symbol, including the backwards font represents a past or present aspect of the neighborhood. Sewing machines, keyboards, bottle tops, letter press, paint brushes, cameras, all in hyper-colored repetitive pattern.

Colourful watch for a cause
Posted 10:04 AM by Rebecca Campbell
These days with our reliance on mobile phones, watch brands are having to make their designs just as much a fashion statement as a functional tool to tell the time. Which is why we are loving the re-Issue of the original Raised by Wolves and Furni digital watch collaboration. 1980’s old school design, it comes in a range of neon-popping colours just in time for summer. Plus, a bit of every watch sale goes to giving skateboards to underprivileged youth across Canada with the contributor campaign. An extra reason to get more colourful.

Transforming pot holes into pot plants
Posted 10:00 AM by Rebecca Campbell
Just love this. Artist Pete Dungey was frustrated with the state of the roads and rather than complain he decided to approach the problem with love instead of anger and started transforming the pot holes into pot plants. It’s hard not to smile when you see one. Just another small way of one person adding colour to lots of people’s lives.

Let’s Colour Brazil
Posted 07:48 PM by Rebecca Campbell
Our Tudo de Cor friends in Brazil have just finished another colour transformation. They began splashing 66 colours around Porto Alegre back in July and laid the final strokes last week August. The colour palette was carefully selected by the team and a designer to symbolise the ‘Guaiba’ sunset. 72 houses in total were brought to life on a famous street with historical facades that date from 1910 and 30’s.
If you happen to be nearby and want to check out the colourful work, I’m posting the location address below. It’s a great street filled with people and restaurants so is definitely worth a visit.
Colour themed hotel
Posted 09:58 AM by Rebecca Campbell
If you’re heading to Athens on your way to the islands this summer, you might want to check out the colour themed hotel: Semiramis. It’s designed by Karim Rashid. The colour palettes are sugared almond (complete with squishy looking marshmallow chairs in the lobby) and bright citrus colours contrasting with white. From a look on the website, the neon lit bar looks pretty cool too.

Spill your wine to reveal colour
Posted 09:58 AM by Rebecca Campbell
Norwegian designer Kristine Bjaadal has designed a prototype where once liquid is spilt on it colourful patterns appear. This is my kind of tablecloth, absolutely perfect for a dinner party. Once liquid has been spilt, the colours remain, transforming itself forever as colourful part of the dining room.
